My current research builds on over 12 years of work as a practitioner and adviser in higher education institutions in the U.S. and the United Arab Emirates, and building partnerships with P-12 schools at the University of South Carolina.
I have used both quantitative and qualitative research methods in my scholarship, including time-series regression, ANOVA, and network analysis, as well as case study and phenomenology designs with longitudinal interviews and surveys.
My published articles in the Journal of International Students [h5-median: 43, Scopus CiteScore: 1.8] and International Studies in the Sociology of Education [h5-median: 15; Scopus CiteScore:1.1] focus on international students' experiences in emerging global contexts. I received a highly competitive research award from AIEA, which recognized me as an early career researcher impacting the field of international higher education. I have two grants (through CIES and ACPA) to support my research which examines the impact of study away experiences as compared to study abroad experiences.
I encourage you to explore my refereed articles, book chapters, book reviews, and professional publications through the subpages.
